Whitney and Bobbi Kristina

I am not sure where to begin with these two women, so I guess the best place to begin is with Whitney. I have been a huge Whitney Houston fan ever since she came on the scene. I know just about every song she ever sang and I still enjoy them to this day. Whitney was beautiful inside and out, with the voice of an angel! After her marriage to Bobby Brown, and the birth of her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, Whitney was living the American Dream. I, like much of her fan base, was troubled to hear about Whitney's drug abuse over the years, which eventually led to her death. True Whitney fans turned their sites to Bobbi Kristina, secretly hoping that in some way, shape, or form, she would carry on her mother's legacy.
But it appears that Bobbi Kristina never recovered from her mother's death. I believe she struggled trying to make sense of life, purpose and herself after her mother died. I am not really clear on the events of the day Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bath tub, ironically similar to her mother's demise, but I do know that both Whitney and "Krissy", as she was affectionately known, are both gone way too soon!
As I reflect on the tragic deaths of these two women, I cannot help but think about my own life, purpose and even my death. Did I do everything that I was supposed to do? Did I miss it somehow along the way? Did I go to that person and tell them I'm sorry? Did I go down the right path? How will I die? Will I become in contact with some deadly disease? Will someone try and harm me? Or will I be fortunate enough not to experience death and witness the second coming of Jesus Christ first hand?
There is one major lesson to learn from both Whitney and Krissy: LIFE IS TOO SHORT! So I ask the question: What is stopping you from living the life God has called you to? Is it fear? Is it laziness? Not knowing where to begin? Start by seeking God for your purpose. John 15:16 (NASB) states: "You did not choose, but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you." This is saying that God has already chosen us, but let's turn this around: have you chose God? It does not matter where you've gone or what you've done, God has a plan for you and you are worthy to be used by Him. What distractions are getting in the way of you pursuing your purpose? Just make sure that whatever you do, it builds up the Kingdom of God. The late Myles Munroe states that by not living out your purpose, you are just merely existing.
There will always be references to Whitney and Krissy's lives and deaths as long as we live. Sadly, the struggles and hardships that they faced are what they are most known for. But here is a question for you: What do you want to be most known for? If you had to write your own obituary, what would it say? You were chosen by God to make a difference Just something to think about.
Forever Hoping for you,
Y.
